超级医圣

Chapter 7: "风云医道"

The sudden appearance of the city's Health Bureau Chief, He Qi Ming, sent a wave of curiosity through the crowded waiting room. Chen Yang, still treating a patient, raised an eyebrow as he sensed the gravity of the situation. "Can I help you, Chief He?" he asked calmly, his hands moving deftly as he applied a special ointment to the patient's wound.

He Qi Ming's expression was stern, his eyes narrowed as he surveyed the bustling clinic. "Chen Yang, we've received reports of some... irregularities in your medical practices. We're here to investigate."

Chen Yang's hands faltered for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure. "Irregularities? I'm not sure what you're referring to, Chief He. Perhaps you could specify?"

He Qi Ming's face turned red with indignation. "Don't play dumb with me, Chen Yang! We've received allegations of you using 'fake' medicine and 'divine' healing methods that defy science. We're going to put a stop to it."

The waiting room fell silent, with all eyes on the tense exchange between the two men. Chen Yang's patient, sensing the unease, quickly excused himself and left the treatment room.

"I see," Chen Yang said, his voice measured. "And who are these alleged 'witnesses'?"

He Qi Ming sneered. "We have evidence, Chen Yang. Evidence that will bring you down. You're not as 'miraculous' as you think you are."

Chen Yang's eyes flashed with anger, but he kept his voice even. "I see. Well, Chief He, I'm happy to cooperate with your investigation. But I assure you, my methods are based on the ancient art of Chinese medicine, which has been proven effective for centuries. I'm not going to let baseless allegations tarnish my reputation."

He Qi Ming snorted. "The ancient art of Chinese medicine? You mean the kind of pseudoscience that relies on superstition and myth? We're dealing with real medicine here, Chen Yang. Not fairy tales and 'miracles'."

Chen Yang's expression turned icy. "You know nothing about the true power of Chinese medicine, Chief He. But I'm willing to prove it to you. Show me the 'evidence' you have against me, and I'll demonstrate the efficacy of my methods. Let's settle this once and for all."

He Qi Ming's eyes gleamed with triumph. "Ah, I knew you'd be eager to prove your point. Very well, Chen Yang. I'll give you a chance to prove your... 'miracles'. But be warned, if you're found guilty, your medical license will be revoked, and you'll face serious consequences."

Chen Yang's jaw clenched, but he nodded. "I accept your challenge, Chief He. But I warn you, the truth is not what you think it is."

As the two men parted ways, the waiting room erupted into whispers and speculation. The tension was palpable, and Chen Yang knew that the stakes had just been raised. The fate of his clinic, his reputation, and perhaps even his freedom hung in the balance.

But Chen Yang was undeterred. He had always known that the path to greatness was fraught with challenges. He would not back down now.

"Get me my notes," he called out to his assistant, his eyes narrowing as he contemplated the battle ahead. "We have a lot of work to do."

Little did he know, the real battle had only just begun...
